The Board of Directors shall be nominated and voted on by the Executive Team. The Board shall be responsible for administration and development of the Club policies and procedures as well as longer term strategic planning.
They are responsible for the overall administrative leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.
The DOC along with the BOD is responsible for managing and leading NU programs, coaching and player development. As well as running the day-to-day operations, competitive soccer programs, training camps, and Leagues.
NU will hold tryouts for every age level during the spring soccer season. All players must tryout according to their birth year. These tryouts are designed to evaluate new and current players and ensure that they are placed on the appropriate roster. Roster decisions will be made by the Director of Coaching, the NU Executive Board and Head Coaches. NU players are continually evaluated during the soccer season.
Team assignments are made by the Director of Coaching, NU executive board and Head Coaches and are based upon skill level and capabilities. The Club reserves the right to assign individual players to teams that are above birth year, but better fit with the player’s skill level and capabilities. The Club also reserves the right to assign players to teams to ensure that there are enough players to field a team at a particular age group, if the assignment does not negatively impact the player’s development.
NU Directors are responsible for approving and selecting all the Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches in the program and will assign a Head Coach or coaches to each team in the Club. The parents do not participate in the process of selecting coaches in our program. The Club's Directors reserve the right to change the coach of any team in the program at any time.
All NU directors, coaches, and volunteers must pass a background check administered by the State of Massachusetts. They are also required to complete the SafeSport Training Program, a Concussion Awareness program, and to be properly licensed/certified by US Youth Soccer or the United Soccer Coaches Association.
Uniform - Teams must wear the game day uniforms as established by the Club and provided to each player. Teams and players may not deviate from the uniform we have established for the entire Club. Uniforms are purchased, under our contract, on 2-year cycles. That means that every player in the Club must purchase a new kit when the new cycle begins, regardless of when they purchased their previous kit or joined the club. The next new uniform cycles will take place beginning with the Fall season in 2024, 2026, etc.
Fanwear- Players, families, etc. should purchase all their fanwear gear from our exclusive partner (G&G Apparel) via their online store. Individuals and teams are not permitted to purchase NU customized gear from outside vendors, and outside vendors are not authorized to use the NU logo/patch. While our online store offers supplemental gear, it is not possible to offer all soccer apparel on the store. If you would like a specific item from an outside vendor and would like it customized with the NU logo or badge, please contact G&G Apparel directly to see what can be done.
